Sustaining Caribou and their Landscapes
– Knowledge to Action

Winnipeg, Manitoba • October 25 to 28, 2010

Welcome and plan to attend
the 13th North American Caribou Workshop

In October 2010, Winnipeg will be hosting this important workshop at a time when caribou populations throughout North America are under increased scrutiny, and woodland caribou are recognized as threatened or endangered and have become a high profile species. This is the first time the workshop will be held in Manitoba.

This workshop will bring together caribou biologists, managers, Aboriginal groups, researchers, students and resource users throughout North America.  In the past this conference has attracted representatives from across Northern Europe.

The workshop theme, Sustaining Caribou and their Landscapes – Knowledge to Action, provides participants with the opportunity to share both scientific and traditional knowledge for sustaining caribou populations. The workshop will increase awareness that will lead towards ensuring the long-term persistence of caribou throughout North America and its circumpolar range.

Be sure to check the website often for new information on the workshop. The workshop will be promoted mainly through this website.
